MIXED UP

I know that it's ok to mix things up at times when you are in a hurry....I've been guilty of wearing a brown shoe and black shoe to work all day and not notice it until late in the day (does it help that they were the exact shoe other than the color?) I know of some people who have worn different socks (by mistake) when they were rushing.......but I have never seen hydrangeas with different colored blooms on the same bush. I have always heard that the color of your bloom would be determined by the soil (something about acid???).....well.....I think my hydrangea bush just blew that theory out the window.
I have one bush that has the most beautiful blooms you have ever seen and some are blue and some are pink. This has never happened to me before. The blooms have always been blue on this bush. I sure wish I had a better camera (I know it's the camera and not the photographer) but you could see just how beautiful it is with the two colors. Maybe you have a bush like this.....but I am excited that this year I am blessed with "twin" hydrangeas.....a boy and a girl!

My MIL has a hydrangea bush with different colored blooms, but mine has never looked like that! I think it has to do with whether or not the soil is acidic.

I will keep you posted about our upcoming move next summer to Mobile. I might very well be interested in your house plans.

That's a good post. I always thought it had to do with the soil. There is a blue one next door to me and a pink one about 20 feet away. That is amazing and pretty. Have a great weekend.

Beautiful twins!!!

Hey, I wore two different earrings to church one time. And they weren't little bitty ones. They were the great big 'uns of the 80s and 90s! No one told me til the end of church! Talk about embarrasing...

Hi Sue, just catching up with you a bit today... gorgeous blooms! You should scrapbook aome of those pictures into "twins" baby cards and they'd sell in a heartbeat! So unique!

I was reading some of your past posts... my dad worked his whole career in grocery too... what a fantastic find that grocery cart was! And your little dancers... so sweet!

Take care, Kimberly

The plant is beautiful. I have seen it before, but don't know why it happens. My hydrangeas didn't bloom this year... they were pretty much neglected last year and the year before. This year I'm babying them and the leaves are looking pretty good, so maybe next year blooms.. or maybe late blooms.

Loved the church gathering photos. The food looked great!

That is really too neat that there are two different colored blooms on the same plant. I had always heard that it was due to the soil also. I have never tried to grow a hydrangea bush but I think I should someday because their blooms are just GORGEOUS!!!!

Morning girl....that bush is glorious for sure...I have seen that before..you probabley have alittle more acid in the soil in certan parts and it is starting to effect the color...I started out with a pink one and as the years went by it started turning dark purple! lol lol But I think the suggestion of making beautiful cards for twins birth announcements or baby showers would be a fantastic idea and so unique! Hope all is well with you and yours this weekend girl...have a beautiful Sunday!

Wow Sue, I have never seen this before! It really looks beautiful. I love hydrangeas and I have several in my yard. This year the one right next to my back door has bloomed pink for the first time ever! I have had it at least ten years in that same spot and it's always been blue. We haven't done anything to change the acidity of the soil, so it's a real mystery.
