I finished a fall stitchery last night and I'm not sure if I'll frame it or make a pillow---I'm open to suggestions. I'd love to hear what you think I should do. I love the bittersweet (this did take some time though). I'm trying my luck on a pennyrug table runner right now. I have seen some of your beauties and wanted to make one for myself. Maybe it will turn out and I'll post a picture when it is completed. Another thing that I'm wanting to learn is quilting...I want to make a wall hanging and when I find one that is simple enough for a beginner I'll tackle that. Now to the humor........My DH has always had a thing about either of our children saying the word frickin'. While they were still home, he'd get on to them if they said it. I read this on Darlene's blog yesterday and laughed because it reminded me so much of some of our past experiences.
Some 5 year old students were learning to reading (using phonics, of course). Yesterday, one of them pointed at a picture in a zoo book and said, "Look at this! It's a frickin' elephant!" I took a deep breath and then asked..."What did you call it?" "It's a frickin' elephant! It says so on the picture!" And so it does.....

I like the idea of a pillow, but I think I would frame it. Less likely to get dirty. Great job BTW.

Love the frickin elephant joke, my mom was always on me about that as I am know with the girls! Who knew they would start saying stuff like that so early?

ReplyDeleteI love your stitchery, by the way! I think if it were me, I'd frame it and hang it somewhere where I'd see it often -- near the kitchen sink, maybe. It's beautiful. I've been making some (very beginner) quilts lately, and it's so much fun to watch fabric scraps morph into something special.
I think I'd like it framed on an easel tucked into a bookcase or my kitchen windowsill or on the china cabinet. I can think of lots of places it would go! blessings, marlene

I thougt I posted my comment last night but I must not have hit the right button. Love the stitching and I like the framing idea better of the two options. However, if you are interested in quilting a wall hanging, you might could use this as the center block and build your first quilt around it. Just a thought, but whatever you do with it, I'm sure it will be beautiful. You always make the most of anything. I enjoy your blog everyday though I don't post to mine that often. Hope to post more when I retire. Jane was right; I just don't have the time.
