Thanks to some of you for giving me directions I tried my luck at drying orange slices last night in my oven. I didn't want to try too many in case they did not turn out well, but I will be doing more next week. I had two oranges and sliced them in about 1/4" slices. Then I sprinkled just a little cinnamon on them and rubbed it in. Next I put them on a rack on a cookie sheet and put them in the oven set at 250 degrees. About every 20 minutes I turned them. It took about 1 hour to 1 1/2 hrs. The smell was wonderful! Even my husband (who had said earlier in the evening that he was NOT going to eat anything else after dinner) asked if I was just doing those oranges to tempt him! I want to hang these on my Christmas tree.
I need some help.....several weeks back I visited a blog and saw the most beautiful personalized jewelry. She had a cuff bracelet that was engraved that I fell in love with. It would be perfect for all my grandchildren's names to be on. I cannot remember where I saw this. If any of you might know where this blog is PLEASE leave me a comment. I have been searching and have had no luck.
Also, I will not be posting again until Saturday night. The ladies from our church are going to Tennessee on a retreat tomorrow and returning Saturday. Say a prayer for us!!

Oh man! No need for me to try drying orange slices; I'd eat them all. They look delicious. They will be wonderful on your tree. Hope you have a wonderful trip. Take lots of pictures for us to see when you get home.
I have never tried this , but I may have to now! Love the gingerbread men ornaments you made. Be sure to show us the finished product!
Sue dear,
I would like to tell you "THANK YOU" for the Gingerbreadmen Recipe!! I will be making them this weekend!!! :D Those oranges really do look great!! I am going to do some apples with my dehydrater... and grungy them up with cinnamon. (For our tree, and some garland... may have to do some oranges to mix in :D ) I have not seen anything on the jewelry bracelets... but I will keep that in mind and let you know if I do.
I am saying my prayers for you all... and I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed time on your outing!!! I am looking forward to hearing all about it!!

Just popped over from...oooh, I don't remember whose blog...I've been blog-hopping! I love those dried orange slices...I might have to "try" to make them myself!
I don't know if this is the site you're talking about, but I personally ordered a slim copper cuff bracelet from her and she put all six of my kids' names on it and it turned out beautifully. She does silver as well. She's on Etsy.com, and her username is 'pinkpapillon'. I love handstamped jewelry! I've also bought from Lisa Leonard...in fact, my blog header photo is the necklace that she made for me!
Sue,
Stop by my blog and pick up a book tag I have for you. Hope you guys are having a wonderful trip! Lots of pictures, too, I hope.
Hi Sue! The orange slices look so good; I bet your kitchen smelled delightful!
The only way I can think of for you to find the blog you visited would be to do a history search on your browser. I use internet explorer - hold down your control key and hit the letter, "h" and on the left, your history will pop up. You can search by date, most visited, etc ... I hope that helps. (This won't work if you've cleared your internet files recently, though)
Have a nice weekend!
Mia
Ohhhh I am gonna have to try that girl...they will look great on my rustic tree...have a fantastic time at the retreat girl!
I am drying oranges as I type. I sprinkled them with cloves instead of cinnamon. Orange/clove smells like Christmas to me!
