BACK HOME!

We're back home but had a wonderful time these past few days. It's always nice to have all your children and grandchildren with you and that's what we had for a few days. This was the first New Year's that I haven't eaten my traditional meal of blackeyed peas and greens but it's hard to have that when you are traveling. We left early Thursday morning heading to Louisiana. Our son and his family met us at the motel where our daughter's family stayed, and we all headed to New Orleans with all six children (we're not really crazy). They were ALL very well behaved. The kids had a great time and so did we. The picture below was Fulton Street and it was magical. This entire street was lit up with trees and the lights changed colors making it BEAUTIFUL. Also, each hour on the hour snow would begin falling. I know that some of you have had all the snow you need, but here in the south even fake snow is exciting.
This picture shows Griffin & Maddie by the gingerbread man. These two are two peas in a pod! They had such a good time.....I wish they could be together more (but they'd probably stay in trouble).In spite of the outcome of the ballgame, we had a great time and I'm still proud to say ROLL TIDE! Who would have ever thought that we would win twelve ballgames this year? Sure I would have liked to have won the Sugar Bowl, but I think we had a great year. This picture was made from my seat as Alabama came on the field.

I am looking forward to a brand new year----2009! It's a chance to start over and do a better job (of course we can do that any time during the year). I have some goals that I have set for myself. They are:
* spend more time reading my Bible and in prayer
* trying not to worry about things
* learning to say NO
* losing some weight and eating healthier
* walking
* blogging at least three times a week
* being more thankful
These are some of my goals. I'm sure there are more. I spent way too much time last year on the computer when I was home. I enjoy visiting all of my friends and will continue to do so. I am just limiting my time so I can accomplish my other goals.

  5. Looks like you had a great time with the kids. They are adorable. Sorry about the game, we watched it and were pulling for the Tide. We will be watching the OU vs Florida game on Thursday, my hubbie is from Oklahoma so we will become 'Sooners' for a brief 3 to 4 hours.

  11. Glad you had such a good trip. Your grands look so precious. And it looks like you had good seats for that game. Didn't they look just pitiful:( Hard to believe it was the same team we watched all season. But, like you said, they did a lot better than was expected this season. We'll just wait till next year!. I think I'm going to need to follow your lead and limit my computer time. I should be reading my Bible if I have all this extra time! Hope you have a great week.

  12. Hi Sue, looks like you had a great trip and I enjoyed sharing it through your pictures. You've set some very worthy goals for the year, and I share many of them. I've also decided to limit my computer time in order to make time for other things like exercise and Bible study.
