BABY, IT'S COLD OUTSIDE!

I don't know how many of you know that song..."Baby, It's COLD Outside" but that is what came to my mind when I first got up today. I know that many of my blogging friends live where it's extremely cold most of the winter, but here in Alabama we had some days in the 70's not long ago. I told you that my bushes were budding, but this morning it is 11 degrees with wind chills of -3. THAT'S COLD FOR US!! It's not supposed to get above freezing today. I would love to see a little of the white stuff to go along with it, but right now the sun is rising just beautifully and I don't see a cloud in the sky. I sure can't complain....This is the day that the Lord has made....I WILL rejoice and be glad in it.
More later this weekend.

  2. Hi Sue,

We are near Nashville and the weather's pretty much the same here today. It was 3 degrees this morning and many schools are closed in the Nashville area.

I grew up on a cotton farm too. My dad, grandfather (pop), and my uncle farmed together. The best memories I have are of "cotton ginning" time!

    Blessings,
    Mandy

  3. SUE,
What a wonderful blog you have. I can feel the love of family. What tremendous love you are putting into your granddaughter's dress...all that smocking...you are very talented. I am new to the blogging community but I have met some wonderful people. It is 11 degrees today, here in Oklahoma.
You are a blessed lady/a Proverbs 31 woman.

  4. Sue,

It's cold here in "Hotlanta", too! About 15 degrees last time I checked. Where did our summerlike weather go???

I wanted to let you know that I made the banana nut bread yesterday and it was a huge hit! So moist and delicious...it's a "keeper". THANKS a bunch!

Try to stay warm there in Alabama!

  6. It was 8 degrees on my thermometer at 6 o'clock this morning in NC--that's very cold for us here. I'm with you, I'd love to see some snow if it's going to be this cold!

  7. Brrrrr, yesterday we didn't get above freezing but today it is supposed to be in the 40's. I am at my little part time job and am about to freeze. I have my little heater on me....the building is hard to keep warm because it is an old warehouse style with high, high ceilings and windows all along the front. I'll make it though!

  8. Hi:
I also grew up on a cotton farm in Missouri. I love my heritage and wouldn't take anything for memories of growing up on a farm.

  9. I love that scripture, Sue! I try to remember that one on days that feel dreary to me, for whatever reason!

It was supposed to have been 8 degrees here last night and that is super cold for us. I don't even know about the wind chill. Jason had to go out last night and wrap our pipes so they wouldn't freeze. I would love some of the white stuff too...I want at least one good snow this year, so we can go out and play!

    And I love the song!

Have a great day and weekend!

  11. Hi Sue, I love that song too!
I've just been going through your archives and absolutely love your decorating and your house-especially the wrap around porch-I think when I get to heaven that's the mansion I'll have however I'll be so busy praising the Savior that I won't care. Love reading all about you.
We actually have sunshine in northern Colorado today and it is supposed to be in the 50's. Yahoo!
    Blessings to you and yours.

  14. You're right about the cold weather!! It was 12 degrees here when I went out to get my paper this morning. And I said myself today that if we're going to have all this cold, we could at least have a little snow! That would be a treat but I don't think it is going to happen. Have a great weekend anyway!
