My goal was to have two dresses smocked and put together before Emma's birthday party this Saturday....I reached that goal! I have one other piece of fabric but I know there is no way to do it before Thursday (that's when our flight leaves) so I'll wait and work on it when we return. I couldn't get a real good picture of the true color of the fabric but I love the color. So now Miss Emma has this one and the red dress I made week before last. I ordered something from my sweet friend Kristen to hang on the wall in her bedroom and she'll get it to me tomorrow. I'll post a picture of it before we leave so you can see her other birthday present from her Granddaddy & Gigi. Actually, last Saturday was her 1st birthday, but the party is this coming Saturday so we're flying down Thursday night for the party. You know I'll make pictures to share with you next week.
Oh..I love the colors in this one! I know sweet Emma will look so adorable in her smocked dresses! Have a safe trip and I look forward to seeing pictures from the birthday party!
ReplyDeleteSue, I think this dress is even prettier than the red checked one. And what a precious gift for your little Emma. I'll be checking tomorrow to see the other gift for her. Hope you have a good flight and a wonderful visit. Take care.

ReplyDeleteHow blessed your grandchildren are to have a grandma that sews for them! I love smocked dresses and love those years of Joy wearing them. She had a blue one very similiar to that one that we had her picture made in.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet comment about my 'story', lol. I actually do love to write - I had forgot that I did though... grandchildren bring lots of things out in us, don't they :) They are such inspirations! I've written lots of short stories over the years, all inspired by something - I should try to find them I suppose :)
Have a wonderful trip (I know y'all will); be safe and give my love to Chris and his beautiful family!!
