There were various old buggies around for you see the mode of travel years ago.
On site is an old log cabin and inside there was a demonstration of how to spin cotton. You can see some school children (that some
This is the kitchen area of the log cabin. Pancakes are being prepared and each person who passed through was able to sample a small piece. DELICIOUS! I loved seeing the way they had the cabin furnished. Also, on the front porch there was someone making cornshuck dolls. Out back was a smoke house, a small garden, and chicken house.....made you see how simple (but hard) life was many years ago.
The crafts were wonderful. I can't believe I didn't make any pictures. I bought a wool pillow that I'll post about later and some cute little seasonal shirts for my granddaughters. The longest line of the day was for the fried pies....VERY LONG....but well worth it. I came home with fried apple, peach, coconut, sweet potato, pecan, and chocolate pies. WHAT A FUN DAY WE HAD!!!

I have always wanted to go there and never have. Even in photography school, so many class mates went there and took photos (fall and spring) and did whole pictorials for their fade and dissolve shows. That was nearly 20 years ago, I still have not made it over there and will not make it there this weekend either. :-( Thanks for taking photos Sue so I can enjoy it from your blog. :D
How fun that looks. I particpated once in something similar & wove my baskets. It was in Mi. I had alot of fun that day. All those pies sound just delicious.

I'd love to live in a little cabin like that. Well, except I would definitely have to have a bathroom. And electricity for my sewing machine. Oh, and a good lamp because my "old" eyes don't see so good anymore. :) blessings, marlene
That looks like so much fun. We have something sort of like it here. I say it a hundred times this time of year, but I LOVE FALL !!!
That looks like a really neat arts & craft festival. I just LOVE strolling around them. I can't even imagine living the life they did back in the "olden" days. It would have been so hard. Oh, and I LOVE fried pies!
Can't wait to see what you bought.
Now Sue, is that very nice to tell us about the delicious fried pies if you can't share them with us?!?!?
It sure looks like so much fun and I love the buggy!
The log cabin would be fun to look at but I myself wouldn't want to live in one:0

Looks like a great place to go! Reminds me of Westville in Lumpkin, Ga. If you haven't visited there, you should if you get the cahnce. It is an entire village from 1854. Authentic and wonderful!
