TRUST ME.........this may be one of the best desserts I have ever put in my mouth! This is coming from someone who 'likes' chocolate but doesn't 'love' it. If given a choice I would probably choose lemon or coconut pie over chocolate any day. However, when I see a recipe that someone says is delicious (and easy) I usually try it. I wish I could tell you where I saw this recipe. I know it was on a blog that I visit regularly (but you don't want to know how many this actually is). Being a country girl....cobblers are a dessert of choice....but I've always made apple, peach, strawberry, etc. and never chocolate. I copied this recipe from the blog (sorry, again, that I can't give proper credit) and baked it for supper (yes, country night it's called supper). I had all the ingredients already at you do to. Here's the recipe.
Melt 2 sticks of butter in a 9 X 13 dish
Mix the following together in a bowl:
1 1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 c self-rising flour
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c of milk (plus a smidgen---I used almost a cup)
Pour this over the melted butter. DO NOT STIR...just drizzle the above over the butter.
In another bowl mix the following:
1 c sugar
5 tbsp. cocoa
Just SPRINKLE this over the mixture (I used my fingers). Again DO NOT STIR....just sprinkle.
Now add 2 cups of boiling water over the top of all of the above. DO NOT MIX....just pour over (covering all the dry mixture you just sprinkled).
Bake uncovered for 35-45 minutes.

Oh, my goodness!!!!! My son-in-law gave it top rating! Please let me know if you try this and like it.

Oh my goodness Sue, I'm like you, I like chocolate but enjoy other desserts more--my husband loves, loves chocolate--it's the only type of dessert he will eat. He is going to just love this one! Thanks for sharing it.

Sue, I think I missed it...what temperature do you bake it at? I'm looking forward to trying this and I don't want to mess it up! LOL

I didn't put the temperature for the dessert. I'm so is 350 degrees. You will love it!

Oh, shouldn't have! I will eat that entire thing if I make it! Talk about heavenly! My mouth is already watering!

Thank you so much for offering to send me your house plans. As we get a little closer to deciding exactly when and where we'll be headed, I may very well contact you so that I can make a copy of them...if you don't mind. Have a Happy Monday!
