I have had two projects in the making for a while now and I finally completed them today. I bought the little wooden plaque several weeks ago at the thrift store for $0.59. It's hard for me to pass up anything wooden because sooner or later I'll find a use for it. I put it away until I could decide what to do with it and for now I just sprayed it a cranberry color and used my chalkboard pens (that you can use on any surface) and wrote the saying below. I can always change it later.
This next project was an idea I got from Marie at Watch The Wind Blow By. She saw these dog and cat food containers in a Ballard Design Catalog for $49 each. She told us how she got a large popcorn tin (like you see at Christmas) and spray painted it and made her own. On my next trip to the thrift store they had two of those popcorn tins for $0.79 each. I bought both of them. I don't have a dog but had to make one to hold my cat food. This one didn't come from Ballard's but it cost less than $1.00!!!

Super cute Sue... I love the sign that says, "Jesus knows me this I love" I have never heard that before! So cute.
I love what you did with the popcorn tins...Who would have thought? ~♥ :)
Cute, cute projects! I'm going to be on the lookout for some tins to redo. Great ideas!!!

I've never seen that phrase before! Very cute! I love how your tin turned out!! The paw prints are too cute!! :o) I'm very impressed.
What a neat idea! I'll have to be on the lookout for tins that size at the Goodwill.

Hey Sue!!!! Ohhh girl I was just thinking about you cause I think I have finally found what I wanted to give you for being so good to me!!! I gotta get a box for it but I hope to get it mailed by Friday! I hope your son & his family are alright...we didn't even get so much as a rain drop from the storm...seriously...it clouded up and winds blowed but nothing! Hope all is well with you & your family...loved the new treasures you got & made...oh it has just started off being a great week! Take care girl!
Great idea with the tins! It makes me think of other uses too - like bird feed, sand by the back door for icy winter days and so one and so on!
Hi Sue,
I love the way all three of your projects turned out! You are very creative,
Diane
I love that saying...Jesus Knows Me This I Love! So do you buy the chalkboard pens at a craft store like Hobby Lobby or Michaels? Great idea!
I'm still going to try out the tile coasters too! Love that one!
